Microneedling FAQs
Updated: Aug 14
You've got questions, we've got answers.

DOES IT HURT?
It would if we didn’t have you get numbing cream, which we do. So, it doesn’t. After you book, you’ll get full directions on which numbing cream to get and how to apply it properly.
WHAT WILL I LOOK LIKE AFTER? AND FOR HOW LONG?
When you leave the appt you will look rosy and possibly blotchy. You’ll feel like you have a mild sunburn. Generally for most people it’ll last about an hour to several hours. By morning of the following day you should be just like nothing was done. There are exceptions to this, some clients are fine even when they leave and some take a couple of days to fully settle.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
$275 per treatment. When you choose a package (2 or 3 sessions) it costs less and less per treatment. All clients of Lift Laser and Beauty pay in full for their packages at their first appointment. You can see the pricing for packages here.
IS THIS THE SAME AS A VAMPIRE FACIAL?
UGH!! NO! First of all, all that blood is nauseating. Second, if someone is telling you that they do this procedure to the depth that your face gets all bloody – RUN!
Correctly done, this procedure achieves only pinpoint bleeding. I’ll be looking for it through a brightly lit magnifying glass and you’ll barely notice it at all, if any.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE?
The time in treatment is about 45 minutes to an hour.
HOW LONG DO THE RESULTS LAST?
Microneedling isn’t something that wears off. The process compels your body to create it’s own new collagen and elastin. Your results will be your results until your new collagen and elastin rich cells begin to break down and your production slows. You can think of it like this, you will get a new normal from microneedling and you will continue to age from that new normal. We can’t stop the aging process, but we can blur the point from which you do so.
WHICH DEVICE DO YOU USE?
I work with the eDermastamp by Dermaspark and it IS one of the few HEALTH CANADA APPROVED devices.
It and all of it’s diposable components are made in Germany.
HOW DEEP DO YOU GO WITH THE PINS?
Well, I hope you are just asking because you are curious or because you know about depth and want to be sure these are not too long.
If you believe that deeper is better, we need to talk. The deeper is better mindset has a big caveate: scar tissue. It’s pretty much the opposite result to what you are looking for.
The depth of the eDermastamp varies in accordance with the treatment area. It will be adjusted for each area, the depth at your forehead will be much less than the depth at your cheeks.
The eDermastamp runs from 0.3mm to 1.5mm.
I HAVE A ROLLER AT HOME, ISN'T THIS THE SAME?
Not at all. Your home roller should only roll to a depth of .20 or .25mm. What you achieve with this is transepidermal penetration. Basically you poke shallow holes to allow your serum (generally hyaluronic acid) to get into your skin. This isn't a depth that you'll achieve collagen or elastin synthesis or any remodeling as a result of the rolling.
WILL IT MAKE ME LOOK LIKE I HAD A FACELIFT?
Hahahaha. NO.
You can expect minimized scars, smoothed fine lines, diminished wrinkles, evened skin tone, more radiance, smoothed texture, and a firmer and tighter feel.
