One of the things about laser hair removal (at Lift Laser and Beauty we use an IPL. If you'd like to know the difference, this will fill you in) is that it does have some limitations. It needs enough pigment in the hair to see it as a target and the hair needs to have enough breadth for the light to find it.
As your laser or IPL hair removal sessions progress and the easy-target hair becomes sparce. The reality is that the thinner, lighter hairs that you probably didn't even realize that you had are harder for the light to damage in the follicle.
This is why we like to introduce sugaring to the mix.
Sugaring - a gooey concoction of sugar, lemon juice, and water -is expertly manipulated to liberate your skin from unwanted hair. The act of quickly removing the hair effectively damages the follicle, helping to render it useless.
IPL – Intense Pulsed Light (IPL). Light energy is transformed into heat energy at the target - the hair attached to the follicle - heating the hair and damaging the attached follicle.
The Combo - now, combine the natural form of destruction from sugaring with the high-tech destruction of IPL. It's like taking a fist-fight against hair and giving one of the fighters a knife. Never bring a fist to a knife fight. lol. Adding the second mode of damage brings even more impairment to the follicle. This equals better results.
Less Pain, More Gain - okay we hear you. You're worried about sugaring hurting. If you've ever tried traditional waxing, you know the pain is real. But fret not, because sugaring is here to save the day with its gentler approach. It's not free of negetive sensation all together, but it's not as bad as waxing and it's brief. You'll be okay.
Here's the thing though. This isn't a willy nilly process. In order for this combo to be effective we do need to adhere to a specific timing schedule. We'll fill you in on all the details at your first appointment. (Don't worry, it's not hard).
